Having a hard time picking the right scent of you aromatherapy candle? Rejoice. Many people have a hard time picking the right scent that really lifts their moods or set the atmosphere to match the occasion. While the point of using scented candles is to give the air some relaxing vibe, not all aromatic candles have that certain relaxing, therapeutic effect. And many people have made such erratic picks.
There are certain scents that induce happiness, while there are particular aromas that invite sexual arousal, and so on. Whatever your purpose, you must know what scents your candles must suggest if you are aiming for a certain atmosphere, aromatherapy or something else.
Every scent has varying effects and one must know that aromatic candles and other essential aromatherapy product derived their scents from plants’ and herbs’ essentials. Parts such as barks, seeds, and petals produces scent that really invokes wide range of emotions, according to doctors and scientists.
Aromatherapy oil from rose petals, orange, and lemon induce happiness and promotes well being. Anxiety attacks may require professional help, but oils and candles scented with the essences of bergamot, lavender and sandalwood are said to help relieve episodes of anxiety attacks.
As mentioned earlier, scents from that burn from aromatic candles or oil used in an aromatherapy massage can lead to sexual arousal and significant increase in libido, as proven by scientific studies. Aroma from ylang ylang, sandalwood, lavender and jasmine are very popular and widely used by couples to further, stimulate, improve, and enhance their sexual drive and better their sexual performance.
Back to the main point of this article, with all benefits that come from scented candles, oils, and other essentials, it is best that one get their wares from an expert maker or an established aromatherapy manufacturer. High end scented candles are made of soy wax or bees wax and are fused with top class herbal oils.
Cheap aromatic candles are made of paraffin wax, which offer a lot of disadvantages compared to soy wax or bees wax candles. Being a petroleum-based product, it releases soot that can be potentially harmful to your health when inhaled and can leave stains and ugly spots to your furniture. In addition, paraffin wax candles are not recommended for aromatherapy, as the smell of burning paraffin wax is more profound than the aroma of the candle.
So when picking scented candles with aromatherapy in mind, choose candles that are made of soy wax or bees wax and carry the label “Pure Essential Oils.” These candles are the real deal. They may be pricey, but they are worth every penny you will shell out.
